How to Win Friends and Influence People

Eastwickers come from a variety of backgrounds. The one thing we all have in common, though, is our passion for communicating clients’ stories in compelling ways and getting great results in the process.

That, and our propensity for dressing up on Halloween.

Lead by Example

Fifteen years ago Barbara Bates, Elaine Cummings, and Nancy Blake — PR vets and long-time friends — set out to create their ideal agency: the type of place they’d like to work, one focused on delivering market-changing results to clients.

The result? Eastwick Communications is one of the top independent high-tech PR firms and has consistently been named one of the best companies to work for in the Bay Area. Not too shabby.

Barbara is one of Eastwick’s three founding “witches.” A redhead through and through, Barb isn’t shy about making her opinions heard and is known among her clients and colleagues as always offering sound counsel, creative ideas and aggressive, proactive outreach strategies to meet PR objectives. Barb’s broad market experience covers all things technology-related, from chips to networking to enterprise software and everything in between. Her claim to fame is helping companies reach their highest potential by applying the right strategy, creativity and passion to major launches, initiatives and overall corporate visibility.

Barb’s unparalleled mix of strategic counsel, editorial and analyst know-how, and skill at telling a great story came from her early years as a corporate communications executive and a television news reporter. Prior to founding Eastwick Communications 15 years ago, Barb was vice president of The Benjamin Group’s Northern California operation and held executive positions in corporate communications at Acuson and GE Calma. On occasion, she draws on her experience as a black jack dealer to make the right bet for her clients!
